The National Days are organised on an annual rotating basis at the various partner Institutions of the Programme.
The events are attended by all enrolled PhD students, members of the PhD Board, Supervisors and co-supervisors, and representatives of the partner institutions. They provide an important opportunity for students to meet, share their experiences, and return the results of their research activities.
Besides speeches by institutional representatives of the PhD and invited guests, to address issues of specific interest to all those involved in the Programme, presentations by PhD students are also planned for each of the seven curricula, to give back and introduce their research activities.
It is also planned to organise a dissemination event open to the public each year, with the participation of a distinguished guest.
The first edition of the national days took place in Trento on 4 and 5 July 2023 and featured Paolo Nespoli, astronaut and aerospace engineer.
The second edition of the national day took place in L'Aquila on 6-8 June 2024.
The third edition took place in Palermo on 19-21 June 2025.
