XIII International Geant4 School - ELI Beamlines Facility, Dolní Břežany (CZ) | July 27-31, 2026

Deadline for registration 1 June 2026

The XIII Geant4 International School will be held from July 27th to 31st 2026, at the Extreme Light Infrastructure - ELI Beamlines facility in Dolní Břežany, Czech Republic, in collaboration with the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) and the COST Action CA21128 PROBONO.
ELI Beamlines Facility is the most advanced research facility in the world in the field of laser-science. As part of the European ELI ERIC research infrastructure, it operates cutting-edge high-power femtosecond laser systems reaching extreme intensities and provides unique sources of X-rays and laser-accelerated particles for forefront research in physics, materials science, and related fields.

The School aims to bring together leading experts and young researchers working from high energy, nuclear and accelerator physics, to medical and space science. The School provides a unique environment  for learning, sharing, and discussing the advancements of the Geant4 toolkit with special lectures dedicated to medical applications.
The lectures of the XIII International Geant4 School will cover all aspects of the toolkit from basic installation through advanced topics and will be interspersed with examples that build a progressively more complex application, extensible to real space and medical use. The use of Geant4 in a laser-plasma environment will be discussed in a dedicated lecture.
A dedicated short C++/cmake refresher course is also included, to get participants familiar with
the basic elements of the Geant4 programming language.

Participants are recommended to bring their own laptops. A virtual machine with Linux-CentOS and a ready-to-use Geant4 and Python installation will be made available.

The school is aimed at PhD students, post-docs, and young researchers working at Universities
or Research Institutes. On the last day of the School, students will have the opportunity to test their learning achievements through a written exam. The successful outcome of the test will be reported on a written certificate for those interested. A simple attendance certificate will also be available  on request.

The registration fee is 350,00 euros, which includes:

- lunches
- coffee breaks
- daily transportation from/to Prague.

Registration is open; the deadline for the registration is June 1, 2026. Capacity is limited to 50 participants due to the hands-on sessions.

Please note that your registration will only be accepted once the registration fee has been paid/received

Registrations without completed payment cannot be accepted.
